Waldman, Morris David

Waldman, Morris David
(1879-1963)
   American communal worker. He was born in Bartfa, Hungary, and was taken to the US as a child. From 1908 to 1917 he was managing director of the United Hebrew Charities of New York. In 1921-2 he organized relief for central European Jewish communities, and from 1928 he served as executive secretary of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. His writings include an autobiography, Nor by Power and Sieg Heil, a study of Hitler's treatment of the Jews.
